Hey! This meme is being hosted by Wandering through the Shelves!

This week's theme is: 2019 Freshmen Series!

2019 had a pretty interesting set of TV shows that I wanted to check out!  But unfortunately, I wasn't able to watch the big name shows that premiered in 2019 like "The Witcher" and "The Mandalorian."  However, I did managed to watch a couple of shows that premiered in 2019.  Here are the shows I watched in 2019!

After seeing an ad for a midwife, a recently widowed big-city nurse moves to the redwood forests of northern California, where she meets an intriguing man.

I'm a HUGE fan of romantic TV series (sometimes) and "Virgin River" was a pretty interesting series that was based off of Robyn Carr's novel that I saw last year! Can't wait for Season 2!

An animated series based on the popular Dr. Seuss story "Green Eggs and Ham."

I never thought that the day would come when Dr. Seuss' popular children's book "Green Eggs and Ham" would be turned into a TV series and surprisingly, it's a really GOOD series! I can't wait to see more of this series soon!

Lawyers at an elite Memphis law firm specialize in controversial landmark civil rights cases.

I love watching crime dramas and "Bluff City Law" was one crime series that I was interested in watching in 2019!  So far, this series is pretty interesting and I loved the way that they tackled tough subjects like racism and prejudice in a crime setting.

Thursday Movie Picks #26: 2019 Releases

Hey! This week's theme is: 2019 Releases!

I have to admit that 2019 was a pretty interesting year for film since we had a lot of iconic films like "Avengers: Endgame" and "Joker" breaking records.  But, I wanted to use this list to talk about the movies that came out in 2019 that I haven't seen yet, so let's get started!

A couple travels to Sweden to visit a rural hometown's fabled mid-summer festival. What begins as an idyllic retreat quickly devolves into an increasingly violent and bizarre competition at the hands of a pagan cult.

Seriously, I can't believe that I haven't seen this movie yet!  I've been hearing lots of good things about this movie and about how DISTURBING it is.  Well, I'm in the mood for a good horror movie, so I may as well give this movie a shot.

2. Joker

In Gotham City, mentally troubled comedian Arthur Fleck is disregarded and mistreated by society.  He then embarks on a downward spiral of revolution and bloody crime.  This path brings him face-to-face with his alter-ego: the Joker.

I can't believe this!  Out of all the superhero movies that I've seen in 2019, "Joker" was the one movie that I didn't see and the one movie that got the highest praise from the audience besides "Avengers: Endgame." Even weirder since I'm a HUGE "Batman" fan and I was planning on seeing this movie in theaters, but I didn't have the time to.  Better make plans to watch this movie soon!

3. Us

A family's serene beach vacation turns to chaos when their doppelgangers appear and begin to terrorize them.

I had watched "Get Out" and I really LOVED that film!  So, when I heard that Jordan Peele was directing another horror movie, I really wanted to see it!  But, I never got the chance to watch "Us" in theaters.  Luckily though, I managed to get this movie for Christmas, so it won't be long now until I finally watch it!

Extra Movie:

4. Ready or Not

A bride's wedding night takes a sinister turn when her eccentric new in-laws force her to take part in a terrifying game.

I just had to add an extra movie to this list because there were so many awesome films released in 2019 that I didn't see and "Ready or Not" was one of those movies that I was really interested in!  I loved Samara Weaving's performance in "The Babysitter," so I really want to watch this movie!
