Thursday Movie Picks #2: Movies You Have a Different Opinion After Rewatch

Hey! Welcome to Thursday Movie Picks where you get to share your movie picks for each topic presented every Thursday!  Based on the theme presented each week, you can pick up to 3 to 5 movies and explain why you picked those movies! This meme is being hosted by Wandering through the Shelves!

This week's theme is: Movies You Have a Different Opinion After Rewatch (Suggested by The Void 99)

There were many animated movies I had watched over the years where my opinion had changed after I watched it a second time.  So, here are some films where my opinions had changed completely after rewatching them again.

When I watched this movie the first time, I didn't have much of a high opinion about it because I found the plot to be quite messy and the characters not developed well enough.  However, when I rewatched the movie just recently, I found out that I really enjoyed this movie, despite the many plot holes and lack of character development this film had.

This was a movie that I was terrified of when I was little and when I watched it the first time, I was absolutely horrified by it.  But, after I started rewatching the movie several times over the years, I started to really enjoy this movie, especially after I realized just how funny this movie really was!

This was a movie that I was mildly terrified of when it first came out.  I got a bit freaked out by the scary designs and I also thought that the story was just okay at first.  Then, I rewatched the film years later and I realized just how in depth this film was in its themes that I missed out on the first viewing.

  1. Oh man, We're Back. I loved that movie when I was a kid. I'm curious how it would hold up for me now.

  2. I’m glad you gave Corpse Bride a second chance as I love that movie. I’ve seen Beetlejuice only once many years ago and I really enjoyed it. I’ve been meaning to rewatch it though.

  4. Nice picks! I haven't seen The Corpse Bride in a long time, but wasn't too crazy about it when it came out either. I might to rewatch it sometime and see if my mind has changed.

  6. Beetlejuice and Corpse Bride are wonderful films. I would love to re-watch each of them simply because they make me so happy. I've probably seen Beetlejuice 10 times, but Corpse Bride? Just the once.

    I don't think I ever watched We're Back. But...maybe?? Was it a book?

    1. Yes, it was based off a book by Hudson Talbott (which I never read).

  7. I haven't seen the first pick and probably won't. I love Beetlejuice and the dinner scene is hilarious. I should give Corpse Bride another go since I was on an airplane when I saw it and it was, literally right after the funeral of my friend's baby who died from SIDS. I just couldn't watch the movie
