Hey everyone! Welcome to the "Top Lists" where I do a top 10 lists on any topics that I come across!
This week's theme is: Top 10 Most Anticipated Movies of 2020 (Non-Weird Edition)!
Now normally, I focused on weird movies in general. But, I wanted to do something different for this list in listing my top 10 most anticipated movies in 2020! Now, bear in mind that this movie list is based on my personal opinion. So, there might be some movies that you don't agree with or there might be a movie that you are looking forward to that's not on the list. But, here's my top 10 most anticipated movies of 2020!
10. Underwater (January 10, 2020)
A crew of aquatic researchers work to get to safety after an earthquake devastates their subterranean laboratory. But the crew has more than the ocean seabed to fear.
I'm actually surprised that this movie is coming out this week as I'm typing this list! Anyway, I'm pretty interested in checking out this film because it seems like it will have a unique take on the underwater horror story and I would love to see how that plays out!
9. Godzilla vs Kong (November 20, 2020)
As the gigantic Kong meets the unstoppable Godzilla, the world watches to see which one of them will become King of the Monsters.
It's Godzilla vs. King Kong! Of course I'm going to check this movie out! However, I have recently seen "Godzilla: King of the Monsters" and while I thought that the action sequences were well done, the story felt a bit flat as the characters weren't that well developed. I hope that this movie is a bit better.
8. Mulan (March 27, 2020)
A young Chinese maiden disguises herself as a male warrior in order to save her father. A live-action feature film based on Disney's "Mulan."
Yeah I know. There's some controversy going on with the lead actress of this film, but I'm still interested in checking out this film since "Disney's Mulan" was one of my all-time favorite Disney films and I'm interested in seeing what a live-action adaptation of this film would look like.
7. Morbius (July 31, 2020)
Biochemist Michael Morbius tries to cure himself of a rare blood disease, but he inadvertently infects himself with a form of vampirism instead.
I have never read the Morbius comics before or even watched any of Sony's current "Spider-Man" films. But I'm interested in this film since it involves vampires and it's based off of a character from the Marvel Comics.
Five young mutants, just discovering their abilities while held in a secret facility against their will, fight to escape their past sins and save themselves.
I know, I know. This movie was supposed to be released in both 2018 and 2019, but it kept getting pushed back. But I still wanted to see this movie because I'm a huge X-Men fan and I'm interested in seeing how they will handle the horror angle of this movie.
5. Sonic the Hedgehog (February 14, 2020)
A cop in the rural town of Green Hills will help Sonic escape from the government who is looking to capture him.
This was yet another film that was supposed to be released in 2019. But if you had heard about the controversy regarding Sonic's original design, then you know why this movie was pushed back. Anyway, I'm showing you guys the redesigned version of Sonic and this is one of the reasons why I'm looking forward to this movie (other than the fact that I'm a huge Sonic the Hedgehog fan)!
4. Eternals (November 6, 2020)
The saga of the Eternals, a race of immortal beings who lived on Earth and shaped its history and civilizations.
I haven't read any of the Eternals comics or even heard of these characters. But I'm pretty confident that Marvel will do a good job with this film and I can't wait to see how this film plays out!
3. Birds of Prey: And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn (February 7, 2020)
After splitting with the Joker, Harley Quinn joins superheroes Black Canary, Huntress and Renee Montoya to save a young girl from an evil crime lord.
As of this post, I haven't seen "Suicide Squad" yet, so I don't know much about what is going on with Harley Quinn in this universe. But, I'm still excited to check out this movie because I'm a huge Harley Quinn fan and I've been hearing lots of good things about Margot Robbie's performance as Harley Quinn!
2. Black Widow (May 1, 2020)
A film about Natasha Romanoff in her quests between the films Civil War and Infitnity War.
I will admit that I was a bit surprised at the fact that Black Widow is getting her own movie, despite what happened to her in Avengers: Endgame. But I am interested in seeing how this movie further develops her character and whether or not the events in this film will ultimately affect the future Marvel movies going forward!
1. Wonder Woman 1984 (June 5, 2020)
Well, that's my top 10 most anticipated movies of 2020!
So what movies are you looking forward to in 2020 and what movies that were not on this list that you think I should check out? Please feel free to comment down below!
